Allow satellite imagery downloads for different dates?
Would it be at all possible to access imagery for different dates as per GE? Presently, only what seems to be the default latest date, as presented on GE, is downloaded. Wouldn't it be even more excellent (than what the present software already does!) to be able to select different historical dates? One realises that this may not be possible for all tiles covering the AOI, but it would be a great facility.

wms/wfs servers
This would be amazing software if one could enter other wms or wfs server addresses to be able to combine tiles for offline use.

Implementing a basic scheduler for downloads,
Add a schedule where U.M.D will download a pre-set area, and have it pause outside of these times. This way we can manager offpeak and onpeak internet usage and bandwidth at key times.

to implement the maps from http://openstreetmap.de/karte.html
Hello
The reason for implementing the maps from http://openstreetmap.de/karte.html is folowing: The maps are well rendered, specially for countries with special languages like arabic, japanese, greek, etc.
I use the OSM-Maps for Humanitarian Mission.
Best regards from Switzerland

Empty cache after combinig of tiles?
After downloading and combining of a larger number of tiles, Ultimate Maps D. is not capable to combine the next map of the same size. Download would work, but not combining. It seems as if an internal cache would be filled up, what prevents the next combining. Couldn't you just empty the space after each combination?

3D view would make this the Ultimate Map. 3D view on Bing and Google lets me zoom right in. You need this feature on this app!!!
3D view would make this the Ultimate Map. 3D view on Bing and Google lets me zoom right in. I am a roofing contractor and a little more zoom-in would help tremendously with the ruler tool. You need this feature on this app!!!

The download dialog should have an image preview so that one can make sure the desired area is the area that is actually downloaded
When downloading maps, the highlighted area is not always the area that is downloaded. It would be useful to have a download preview similar to a print preview so that you can tweak the area downloaded at the final stage.

Calibration of combined tiles
The calibration of combined tiles for import in OZI explorer is only by 2 points (left top and right bottom) Foe small tiles this is no proble, but for larger combined tiles this makes calibration less exact. It would be usefull to increase the number of calibration points (e.g. all the left-top / right-bottom points of the tiles that were combined).
I use OZI explorer for all my expeditions and I can recommend this program to all. It would be usefull to have calibration output directly in OZI format with an increased number of calibration points.12 votes -
Alternative Units
It would be useful to have a choice of units, e.g. “(D)DD.mm.ss.s” as well as “(D)DD.dddddd” & perhaps other units based on different datum systems (e.g. UK Ordnance Survey system).

Region corner markers
The region corner markers in the main window (which pop up location information on mouseover), should allow a dialog box to pop up (perhaps on right click?) to permit numeric entry of Lat/Long. AND/OR, it would be useful to be able to right click on the selected region highlighted area in the main window, to achieve the same adjustment function & give other information about the area such as number of tiles that will be downloaded at a given zoom level.

Download selected area corner adjustment
In “Download Selected Area” dialog, the Lat/Long corner adjustments should be simultaneously updated in the main map window highlighted region in order to give visual feedback to user.

Creating routes
When creating routes, it would useful to have the option to set the start point, then end point, then modify the route by placing intermediate markers (similar to the way Google Maps operates). Although the current method can be useful in certain circumstances, I find creating routes is made more difficult by only having a start point, then adding points which only calculate from the previous point, instead of finding the shortest route between all points.

Zoom/Pan to previous location
Zoom/Move/Pan to a previous location. It would be useful to add points to a drop-down list or similar so that they may be selected & centred in the map window (perhaps right click on unoccupied part of map window to select drop-down list?). At the same time, it would be useful to edit/change/delete points within the list & create routes from selected points. Then changing the point order in the list could also be used to change a route.
